Community Education Campaign In September 2000, we launched a Community Education Campaign to disseminate vital information about US systems, laws, services, and resources. Our goal is to enhance our clients' ability to independently navigate life in the U.S., and ultimately reducing the need for our services. The campaign is carried out through the following activities: Community Workshops: We conduct periodic workshops on issues of concern to the Latino population, such as victim's rights, driver's education for adults, immigration, and more. Latino Culture and Values Trainings: We began offering this program in 1998. Our goals are to dispel myths and assumptions about Latinos, aid service providers in enhancing the cultural appropriateness of their programs, and improve access to services for Latinos. We also aim to foster cross-cultural understanding Bilingual newsletters: We publish two 8-page newsletters per year. We print and distribute 2,500 copies per issue to our clients and other organizations. Typically the newsletters include articles about home buying, victims rights, how to file taxes, telephone fraud, and health. We began offering this program in 1998.
